RU students continue protest against BCS quota system
Hundreds of students of Rajshahi University led by Islamic Chhatra Shibir (ICS) activists yesterday formed a human chain in front of the central library on the campus demanding cancellation of the 55 per cent quota system in the BCS examinations.
The students also vowed to continue their agitations until their demand is met.
At a rally they also announced their agitation programme, including collecting signature from students and submitting a memorandum to the chief adviser to press home their demand.
They alleged that 55 percent quota system is a gross negligence towards majority of the general candidates. They also urged the chief adviser, education adviser and chairman of the Public Service Commission (PSC) to ensure appointments in the civil service on the basis of merit.
