Tech-based education stressed
Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid yesterday said technology-based modern education should be emphasised for the desired development of the country.
“We would not be able to bring about a significant change in the development sector of the country through traditional education system,” he said at a function of laying foundation stone of Academic Bhaban at Murarichand College in the district town.
Sylhet city Mayor Badar Uddin Ahmed Kamran, and Vice Chancellor of Sylhet Agriculture University Prof M Shahid Ullah Talukder also addressed the function with Principal of the college Prof Dhiresh Chandra Sarker in the chair.
Most people of the country were poor, Nahid said adding many poor families could not continue studies of their children due to economic restraint.
“We should take necessary initiatives to bring underprivileged children in the schools for expediting development process of the country,” he said.
The minister stressed the need for turning the people of the country into human resources by providing quality education.
