6 hurt as Khulna Jubo Dal factions clash

Six people were injured in a clash between two rival groups of Khulna city unit of Jubo Dal in and outside the city BNP office at KD Ghose road at about 6:30pm yesterday.
The injured of both the factions are Piaru, Zakir, Altaf, Mithu, Saiful and Yunus.
Police said the clash took place centring observance of the 76th birth anniversary of late president and also the founder of the BNP, Ziaur Rahman at the same venue at the BNP office.
Lawmaker Nazrul Islam Manju, also the city BNP president, asked the security guard to keep the BNP office under lock and key when the two groups tried to enter the office for holding discussion marking Zia's birth anniversary.
Following this, supporters of the two rival groups, one led by the city Jubo Dal president Shafiqul Alam Tuhin while another by senior vice president Anisur Rahman Biswas attacked each other. At one stage, they ransacked the party office by breaking the door.
