Three suspects remanded again

A Dhaka court has placed three suspects, who were arrested for their alleged involvement in the killing of six students in Aminbazar, on a three-day fresh remand to gather more information.
The three are Farid Khan, Wasim and Rajib. Two other accused--Rahim alias 'Hatkata' Rahim and Saiful Islam--were sent to jail as the investigation officer (IO) did not submit any remand prayer for them.
Judicial Magistrate Wasim Sheikh on Thursday passed the order after Senior ASP of CID Sirajul Haque, also the IO of the case, produced them before it on completion of a three-day remand. Sirajul sought a 10-day remand prayer for the three.
Shamam, 17, Ibrahim Khalil, 20, Towhidur Rahman Palash, 22, and Kamruzzaman Kanto, 16, of Government Bangla College in Mirpur; Tipu Sultan, 20, of Tejgaon College; and Sitaf Jabi Munif, 21, of Bangladesh University of Business & Technology were brutally beaten to death on July 18 while their friend Al Amin survived with severe injuries.
