Talent hunt 2nd phase in Feb
The second-phase training of the National Sports Council's talent hunt programme will get underway in the first week of February in Dhaka.
A total of 630 athletes from 20 disciplines will take part in first two days of training and later the number of athletes will be curtailed to 392 for another 21-day training.
State Minister for Youth and Sports Ahad Ali Sarkar disclosed it at a press conference at the NSC Tower conference room yesterday. Youth and Sports secretary Mahbub Ahmed and NSC secretary Shafiq Anwar were among others present.
“After the completion of the second-phase training to be conducted by NSC coaches, the selected players will be trained jointly by the NSC and the respective federations and we have a plan to give them training four times in a year,” said Ahad Ali.
For the 21-day training during the first phase of the talent hunt programme, the NSC has allotted Tk 1.41 crore and they will spend Tk 75 lakh for the second phase.
