Risky billboards removed

A mobile court of Chittagong City Corporation (CCC) removed three billboards from a risky old building in Dewan Hat area of the port city and fined the owner of the building Tk 24 thousand yesterday.
Md Selim, the owner of the building, was given notice earlier to remove the billboards from his roadside building as the billboards were posing threat to the commuters and passers-by to be injured, said Abul Mansur, chief inspector (Billboard) of the CCC.
As Selim did not comply with the notice, the court removed the billboards and fined him, he added.
