HC summons Barisal medical college doctor
The High Court yesterday summoned a doctor of Barisal Sher-e Bangla Medical College (BSBMC) for mentioning a 13-year-old violated girl as a mother aged 25 of three children in the forensic report.
In a suo moto order, the court directed Dr Akhteruzzaman Talukder of forensic department to appear before it on January 19 to explain his conduct in this regard.
Sub-Inspector of Ujirpur Police Station Lutfor Rahman, investigation officer of the case, has also been asked to appear before the court the same day to explain his role over the case.
The HC bench of Justice AHM Shamsuddin Choudhury Manik and Justice Jahangir Hossain Selim passed the order following a report published in a Bangla daily yesterday with a headline “Forensic report of BSBMC: Raped girl of Ujirpur a mother of three children” yesterday.
Deputy Attorney General ABM Altaf Hossain brought the newspaper report to the attention of the judges.
The report said the girl, who is aged 13 years and one month, was raped on November 19 last year. The culprits also threatened to publish the video pictures of the act on the website.
