Road crashes kill 3
Three people, including a minor girl, were killed and two others injured in separate road accidents in Tangail, Narayanganj and Chittagong in last two days.
Our Tangail correspondent reports: A five-year old child was killed on the spot and her seven-year old sister and her uncle were seriously injured when a speedy unidentified truck crashed their carrying motorcycle under its wheels on Bangabandhu Bridge-Govindasi road in Kastapara area at Bhuapur upazila in the district yesterday morning.
The deceased was Shamima Akter, daughter of Badsha Miah, of Dashaika village in Kalihati upazila.
The injured Sanzida Akter and her uncle Momin were admitted to the Bhuapur Upazila Health Complex.
Our Narayanganj correspondent says: A motorcyclist was killed when a speedy truck ran him over in front of Binarchar Govt Primary School at Binarchar of Araihazar upazila on Tuesday night.
The deceased was Mehedi Hasan Mishu, 35, son of Ekhlas Molla, of Banti area of the upazila.
Local people took Mishu to the upazila health complex in critical conditions, where duty doctors declared him dead.
Staff correspondent from Chittagong adds: A man was killed when a truck knocked him down while he was crossing the road in the city's 2-No Gate area early yesterday.
The deceased was Nurul Afsar, 50, son of Mohammad Nurunnabi, of Barakhain of Anwara upazila. He was a security guard of Bangladesh Steel Re-rolling Mills (BSRM).
He was rushed to Chittagong Medical College Hospital, where duty doctors declared him dead.
