2 teachers resign

Two teachers of Khulna University of Engineering and Technology (Kuet) resigned yesterday following violence on the campus on January 2.
They are Students Welfare Director Dr Shibendra Shekhar Sikder and assistant provost of Amar Ekushey Hall Prof Sajal Kumder Adhikari.
Some BCL and Jubo League activists aided by some outsiders attacked general students on January 2 as they protested against corruption over the supply of low quality food at a festival at the hall on December 31 and January 1.
Twenty five people, including teachers, students and cops, were injured in the incident.
SM Jubair Siraj, a student of Electrical and Electronic department and leader of BCL, filed a case against 40 students and teachers with Khan Jahan Ali Police Station.
Police also filed another case against 250/300 students.
