Obituary

Shawkat Ali Talukder, freedom fighter and vice-president of Tangail district unit of Awami League, passed away on the way to Ibne Sina Hospital in Dhaka yesterday due to Asthma at the age of 73.
Talukder, also former chairman of Tangail zila parishad and Tangail municipality, left behind his wife, three sons, six daughters, and a host of colleagues and well-wisher.
He was the president of Tangail Mahakuma Chhatra League in 60's and took part in anti Aiyub education policy movement in 1962. He took part in the War of Liberation in 1971.
He will be buried at Tangail Central graveyard with state honour today after namaz-e-janaza at Tangail Eidgah ground at 10:00am.
