Art exhibition held on Zainul Abedin's birth anniversary

A week-long annual fine arts exhibition at Rajshahi University (RU) came to an end yesterday.
RU fine arts department organised the exhibition at the department gallery marking the 97th birth anniversary of Shilpacharjya Zainul Abedin and the 33rd anniversary of the department.
Prominent writer Prof Hasan Azizul Haque inaugurated the exhibition as the chief guest.
A total 225 artworks of students and teachers of the department were displayed at the exhibition that started on December 29.
The department Chairman Prof Bilkis Begum said selected artworks of an academic year of the students were displayed there.
An award-giving ceremony titled 'Shilpacharjya Zainul Abedin Award' was also held on the occasion where Sumon Kumar Sarkar, a fourth-year student of the department, won the award for best artwork.
