Youth arrested for killing hawker in Naogaon

Members of Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) arrested a young man from Ukilpara area of Naogaon district town on Sunday evening on charge of killing a hawker.
The arrestee is identified as Mohammad Russel, 20, son of Aju Majhi of Harlaxmi village in Maijdi upazila of Noakhali, said Rab.
Acting on a tip-off, a special team of Rab from Rajshahi raided the area and arrested Rasel from the spot at about 5:00pm.
Russel and his cohorts killed Nitai Chandra Mohanta, 36, son of Jotish Chandra Mohanta of Goalbari village under Mohadevpur upazila in Naogaon on December 6 and took away money from him, said Rab sources.
The incident occurred in Durgapur Chairman More (intersection) area of the district when Nitai was returning home from Dinajpur.
Later, victim's brother filed a murder case with Manda Police Station.
Earlier on December 20, the elite force arrested another accused of the case Kazi Riadunnabi alias Mukut, 20, son of Kazi Hatem Ali of Barukandi village in the district.
