Drug peddlers injure three policemen

Three policemen were injured by drug peddlers on Tuesday night when a team of Detective Branch (DB) went to a spot to raid a spot.
Sub-Inspector of DB police Md Farhad Hossain told this correspondent over cell phone, a team led by him went to the village at about 7:00pm and raided Dabirul Islam's house at Terokhana village under Baliadangi upazila. They recovered three bottles of phensidyl and arrested him.
At one stage, Dabirul shouted for help following which the family members and his neighbours attacked the police team, leaving three injured.
However, the policemen were finally able to return from the spot with Dabirul who was accused in four drug peddling cases.
The policemen, sub-inspector Md Farhad Hossain, assistant sub-inspector Abdul Majid and constable Shafiullah were treated at Baliadangi upazila health complex.
The next morning, police arrested 10 people raiding several houses at the village on charge of assaulting police and attempting to snatch an accused.
