Documentary on Aparajeyo Bangla

A documentary titled 'Aparajeyo Bangla', commemorating the 40th anniversary of Bangladesh's independence, is to be premiered in New York and Dhaka during this month of victory.
The 62-minute documentary revolves around the representative sculpture of Aparajeyo Bangla erected on the Dhaka University campus, said a press release.
The structure is considered as a national icon of the Bangladesh's heroic War of Independence.
The documentary weaves the history and presents evidence and penetrating interviews to walk the audience through the perilous journey of the 1971 war.
It sheds light on the attempts by religious fanatics to destroy the structure to intimidate the people's spirit of secularism and independence.
It depicts Aparajeyo Bangla as a motivating symbol and a driving force that evokes protest and commitment to uphold the indomitable people of Bangladesh.
The documentary is to be premiered at New York Film Centre on December 9.
Later, it will be screened in the capital at a five-day film show by Dhaka Art Centre and Bangladesh Documentary Film Council from December 13-17.
The film is directed by Saiful Wadud Helal and produced by Shafiul Wadud.
Helal began his career as a journalist in Montreal and worked as a program director and editor in film industry.
Bishwaser Rong (color of faith) premiered at Montreal World Film Festival in 2005 brought him acclamation and prominence.
Other films by him include Smriti Ekattor, Chabir Haat, Anikar Bari, and Cinemania.
