MI Cement marks 17 years of service
MI Cement Factory Ltd, a leading cement maker, yesterday inaugurated its fourth manufacturing unit to meet growing demand in the sector.
The new plant with the capacity of 3,000 tonnes a day will increase its capacity to 5,800 tonnes in phases, said Khabir Uddin Molla, managing director of the company.
Molla spoke at an event to celebrate its 17th anniversary at Bangabandhu International Conference Centre.
The company that started off in 1994 sells products with its brand, Crown Cement, at home and abroad.
“We are committed to be a true contributor to the economy. For this, the company has listed on stockmarkets this year,” said Md Jahangir Alam, chairman of the company.
MI Cement and its associates have so far created job opportunities for around 1,000 people, Alam said.
