Separate bodies for road march, rally formed

Internal feud in Khulna BNP has surfaced anew centring road march in the division on November 26 and public meeting at Khulna Circuit House maidan the following day.
Senior Vice- President of Khulna city BNP Shaharuzzaman Martuza issued a press statement on Sunday night, withdrawing his name from the public meeting implementation committee.
He has formed a separate committee and 12 sub-committees to make the road march and public meeting a success. BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia will lead the road march and address the rally as chief guest.
Martuza's withdrawal from the main committee and formation of a separate committee and 12 sub-committees expose his sharp rivalry with city BNP president and lawmaker from Khulna-2 constituency Nazrul Islam Manju, sources in the city BNP said.
When asked, Martuza said the main committee and other sub-committees do not represent the diehard leaders and activists of ward committees of the city unit.
Contacted, city BNP President Nazrul Islam Manju ruled out the possibility of any adverse impact on road march and public meeting programmes due to Martuza's withdrawal from main committee and formation of counter committees.
Martuza's withdrawal from the main committee cannot be underestimated under any circumstances as his credibility among the party men is undisputed, said Chowdhury Nazmul Huda Shagor, former president of Khulna city Chhatra Dal.
Martuza belongs to ex-lawmaker Ali Asgor Lobi faction of Khulna BNP. Lobi came to Khulna from Dhaka Sunday afternoon and reportedly held a secret meeting with his followers at his residence at Mirzapur Road in the city.
