Singer Kalipada Bhowmik no more

Veteran Nazrul singer and teacher, Binoy Bhushan Bhowmik, popularly known as “Kalipada Bhowmik”, is no more. He passed away at a clinic in Manikganj district town last Wednesday due to old age complications. He was 79. He left behind a son and a daughter.
Local cultural personalities gathered at his house to pay homage. The remains of Kalipada Bhowmik were kept at the Sangskritik Biplobi Sangha premises in the district town where people gathered to show their respect.
He was cremated at the Shibbar Shashan.
He was the music teacher at the Samsunnahar Hall of the University of Dhaka. Kalipada Bhowmik was born at Dhakaijura village under Shibalaya upazila of Manikganj district in 1932.
