Manik back to Muktihjoddha

Coach Shafiqul Islam Manik is all set to return to Muktijoddha Sangsad for the upcoming season after Mohammedan parted ties with the veteran coach.
“Almost everything has been finalised, just the official declaration remains,” said Manik, who left Muktijoddha Sangsad at the start of 2005-2006 season after guiding the All Reds for nine years from 1997.
Manik was expected to be retained by the Black and Whites for the second successive year but the scenario changed after the newly elected committee took over.
Manik, who guided a depleted Mohammedan to a runners-up finish in the Super Cup last season and helped them finish sixth in the 12-team professional football league, also played a key role in forming the current squad of Mohammedan.
