2 die in 'roof fall'

A leather craftsman and a female domestic help died after allegedly falling from roofs in separate incidents in the city's Kadamtoli and Motijheel areas yesterday and on November 6 respectively.
Craftsman Mohammad Enamul, 16, resident of Sanir Akhra Pater Bagh, was found in a ditch near his workplace around 6:00pm yesterday.
Enamul went to the roof of his workplace for a stroll and might have fallen off accidentally, said Mohammad Hossain, brother of the employer Abu Hossain.
The locals rushed him to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where doctors declared him dead.
Meanwhile, police recovered the body of the domestic help Sharmin Akhter, 16, from a road in front of the residence of her employer, Amiruddin Majumder, 85, at Mominbagh on November 6.
Sub-Inspector Mokarram Hossain of Motijheel Police Station said Sharmin jumped, was pushed off or fell while trying to climb down from the six-storied building.
Her employers said Sharmin was reluctant to stay inside but security guards downstairs prevented her from going out.
