One injured in bomb attack in Jhenidah
One person was injured seriously when unidentified criminals hurled bomb at him in a tea stall here Saturday night, police and locals said.
Anwarul Islam Dablu, a cadre and bodyguard of former lawmaker Moshiur Rahman was critically injured by the bomb while he was taking tea in the stall near water tank no. 3 at Adarsha Para here at about 8-30 pm. Dablu was immediately rushed to Jhenidah Sadar Hospital.
Jhenidah Sadar police station officer-in-charge (OC) Sayed Iqbal Ali said the bomb might have been thrown at Dablu as a sequel to rivalry.
Meanwhile, members of the Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) recovered a time bomb from a pond of Montu Laskar in Pabahati village in Sadar upazila in the afternoon on January 20.
Earlier, Sadar police recovered five fresh bombs in an abandoned state from a pond of Rawshan Ali at Pabahati village on January 19.
