Dump leftovers of slaughtered animals on Eid properly
Speakers at a seminar yesterday emphasised the government's effective measures for proper management of waste, blood and leftovers of sacrificial animals to prevent environment pollution during Eid-ul-Azha.
Blood, bones and entrails of sacrificial animals can be transformed into resources like fish food and fertiliser through proper recycling. So, initiative should be taken in this regard, they said.
Poribesh Bachao Andolon (Poba) and Eastern University jointly organised the seminar at Dhaka Reporters' Unity yesterday, said a press release.
Their other demands include setting up zonal slaughtering house, creating public awareness and formation of special team at every locality for proper management of wastes.
Poba Chairman Abu Naser Khan, Eastern University Vice Chancellor Dr Nurul Islam, among others, spoke at the event.
