One returns from Israeli custody

After serving over a year of detention in Israel, a Bangladesh citizen, Sagar Ahmed returned home yesterday morning.
He landed at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport around 2:00am. The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) facilitated his repatriation from Israel, said immigration police sources at the airport.
Sagar, who hails from Habiganj, went to Egypt in 2009 for a job. However, on the promise of better jobs in another Middle Eastern country, a manpower syndicate lured him and other foreign nationals into passing through Israel.
Israeli police detained him in August 2010 and put him in an immigration detention centre in Ramla, said the Red Cross in a media release.
When the Red Cross delegates went to the centre as part of regular visits to monitor the treatment and living conditions of the detainees, Sagar asked for help to return home.
