Higher education

One of my relatives who was then a student of Dhaka University once said that he had learnt nothing new after higher secondary. It indicates the condition or the standard of higher education in our country. I personally agreed with this statement. In my experience I found that the environment of most of the higher education centres is too bad for imparting proper education. For this reason, to increase the standard of education, higher education should be made attractive. If higher education is made attractive, our standard of education will rise automatically.
Firstly, the stipends of the students of universities should be increased so that students can at least meet their basic needs. Jobs within the campus should be created. It will also be better for student-teacher relationship. It will reduce the trend among the students to go for private tuition to earn more money.
Secondly, it should be assured that students can have their leisure time very well planned. There should be an environment to play games or to engage in creative activities.
Thirdly, campus goons should be taken to task so that students can be open minded and can feel free. Debating clubs, movie clubs, chess clubs etc. should be open for all.
In conclusion, I would like to say that if we make higher education attractive, students of the junior classes will be more attentive to their studies, because of inspiration.
