BHF to probe insane protest
A five-member committee has been formed to investigate and find out the reasons behind the unwanted incident during Saturday's final of the National Youth Hockey Championship at the Maulana Bhasani Hockey Stadium.
“The committee, headed by Shamsul Bari, will serve show-cause notice by Saturday next to all the players who illegally entered the field during the match and then the committee will take a decision on the basis of reply from the players,” said Bangladesh Hockey Federation's general secretary Khondoker Jamiluddin after a governing body meeting yesterday.
“The meeting has also decided to take action against any club who, despite agreeing participate in the league, would later refuse to take part in the transfers,” said Jamil.
The Premier League of hockey was last held in 2009 and since then there has been no players' transfer held.
Meanwhile, League Committee general secretary Anvir Adil resigned from his post yesterday citing personal reasons as well as non-cooperation from the clubs. The meeting appointed Yousuf Ali as successor to Anvir.
The meeting discussed about holding an all the club competitions starting from November and ending in March in a bid to ensuring the participation of the established clubs such as Usha, Mohammedan and Abahani in the Victory Day, Independence Day and Language Martyrs' day competitions.
