Two youths jailed for stalking schoolgirls
A mobile court sentenced two youths to three months imprisonment for stalking two schoolgirls in Narayanganj district town Monday.
SI of Sadar PS Asad said, two youths -- Amit and Azimon -- stalked two schoolgirls while they were returning home in Shaheed Bappi Sarani area from school.
On information, an executive magistrate rushed to the spot and handed down the punishment, reports UNB.
In Gaibandha, police arrested an youth from Tabijtola bridge area in Sundarganj upazila on Monday evening on charge of stalking and attempting to abduct a schoolgirl, reports our correspondent.
Police said, the 13-year old girl of village Seecha and a student of class seven at Seecha Girls High School, was returning home from coaching centre on Monday.
When she reached near Tabijtola bridge, a group of youths led by Ashraful, 25, encircled her. They started to tease her and threatened to abduct her.
When the girl cried for help, local people rushed to the spot and caught Ashraful red-handed. Others however managed to flee the scene.
Being informed, SI Mizanur Rahman of Kanchibari police investigation centre, went to the spot and arrested Ashraful and sent him to jail hazat.
Father of the victim Mujibur Rahman filed a case with Sunderganj police station.
