Mahbub Hasan, an eminent theatre activist, organiser and dramatist, passed away at a hospital in the port city yesterday due to old age complications at the age of 83.
He left behind his wife, three sons and two daughters.
Mahbub Hasan started progressive theatre and street drama movement in the port city in 60s.
His body was taken on theatre institute premises in the port city where people from all walks of life paid their last tribute.
He was buried at the graveyard of Garibullah Shah Mazar yesterday night after his namaz-e-janaza on the mazar premises.
Bangladesh Group Theatre Federation, Bangladesh Abritti Samannay Parishad, Sammilita Abritti Jote, Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy, Theatre Institute Chittagong, Sammilita Pahela Boishak Udjapon Parishad, Muktijuddher Bijoy Mela Parishad, Chittagong Union of Journalists, Chittagong Metropolitan Journalists Union condoled his death.
