Tommy lays academy foundation

The foundation of Tommy Miah's Cricket Academy was laid at a ceremony in Moulvibazar, Sylhet on Friday where former cricketers and government officials of the city were present. Tommy Miah, the Bangladesh-born British celebrity chef, unveiled the plaque of the academy. Former Bangladesh captain Razin Saleh, cricketer Enamul Haque Jr. and Mayor and District Commissioner of Moulvibazar were present on the occasion, said a press release from the academy yesterday.
The academy is to be built on a two-acre plot of land and will be finished in two years and will house outdoor pitches, indoor facilities, schools, hostels and an entertainment centre where there will be activities all year round. The academy is scheduled to start running from the end of 2012 or early 2013.
