Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) seized a firearm, scrap materials and rounded up an alleged drug-peddler with phensidyl from different areas in Rajshahi and Chapainawabganj in last 24 hours till yesterday noon, sources said.
Acting on a tip-off, the elite forces seized a country made pipegun with two rounds of rifle-bullets during a raid at Bhobanipur under Shibganj upazila in Chapainawabganj.
In another raid conducted at Keshorehat Bazar under Mohanpur upazila of the district, Rab seized 50 kilograms of copper and brass scrap materials in an abandoned condition.
They also rounded up an alleged drug-peddler identified as Durat Ali, 33, son of late Azimuddin, with 36 bottles of phensidyl during a raid at Talaimari area under Motihar Police Station in the city.
