New Korean Volunteers arrive in Dhaka
A six-member team of Korean Overseas Volunteers (KOVs), expert in computer and livestock science, arrived in Dhaka recently to provide various training to Bangladesh citizens.
The KOV team will be staying in Bangladesh for the next one year and undergo local adaptation training in which they are expected to gain knowledge on local language, culture and customs.
The six KOVs will be dispatched to respective host organisations, working on computing and livestock research, says a press release of the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA).
At present there are 79 young KOVs working in Bangladesh and stimulating its economic growth through their Korean knowledge of development. The KOVs are working in a variety of sectors with the motto 'Making a better world together'.
Korean Ambassador to Bangladesh Taiyoung Cho and Resident Representative of KOICA Bangladesh Office Lee Jung Wook welcomed the volunteers and addressed them at an orientation programme in the embassy premises on Tuesday.
