Wild elephant kills two

Two people were trampled to death by a wild elephant at bordering Haluahati village in Sribardi upazila on Monday. The deceased were identified as Aminul Islam, 25 and Mistar Miah, 30. Witnesses said a herd of wild elephants entered the village in search of food Monday afternoon. At one stage, one of the elephants swooped on local people, leaving one Aminul dead on the spot and injuring Mistar of the village seriously. Mistar was taken to Sadar Hospital where he succumbed Tuesday morning.
