'Ross loss a blow'

The GP-BCB National Cricket Academy suffered a big setback as head coach Ross Turner resigned from his post due to health issues.
“I'm leaving due to my health. I don't want to disclose the details as it's my private matter,” said Turner when asked about the reason behind his resignation.
The Australian joined the academy in April this year on a two-year contract but he decided to leave the job early as he had been struggling with the food and weather in Bangladesh, which led him to lose weight.
“It's really a big setback for us because he has just started his work with a long-term view. We are helpless because he resigned on health grounds. He was complaining about his health after the South Africa trip,” informed academy chief Gazi Ashraf Hossain.
The board has already started working on finding Turner's replacement but the former national skipper said that they will discuss the issue in the next board meeting.
“We have enough time to find his replacement because for the next few months there are no activities scheduled at the academy as the players will be busy with domestic competitions. So, we will discuss the matter in the next board meeting to set the next course of action,” added Ashraf.
Turner had recently raised eyebrows when he sent five Academy bowlers, including three left-arm spinners, to the nets of the visiting West Indies cricket team. Ashraf however said that the move had nothing to do with the resignation.
“The incident had nothing to do with the resignation. It is just because he could not adjust with the food and weather in Bangladesh. Ross informed us long ago that he would not continue in the position because of illness,” he added.
