Nepal no match for Bangladesh
Mohammad Mithun and Nadimuddin Mintu smashed swashbuckling hundreds during a 261-run stand as Bangladesh U-19s cricketers inflicted a massive 111-run defeat on visiting Nepal U-19s in the first one-day match at the Fatullah Stadium yesterday.
The inserted home side amassed 302 for four in the stipulated 50 overs with opener Mithun clubbing 14 fours and three sixes in his quickfire 142 off 137 balls.
After early losses, Mithun and Nadimuddin, who came together at 35-2, took the match away from the tourists with a mammoth stand for the third wicket.
Nadimuddin's 134-ball 118 was laced with 13 boundaries.
The visitors, in reply, batted their full quota to reach 191-8. Opener Anil Mandal scored 48 and Paras contributed 36.
The second match between the two sides will also be held at the same venue tomorrow.
