Worker dies falling from roof

A worker died and two others were injured after falling from the rooftop of a three-storey under-construction building in Chittagong Wednesday night.
The deceased was identified as Nayan Miah, 25 and the injured were Jewel Miah, 30, and Mintu Miah, 30, all are from Mymensingh.
Sub-inspector of Chittagong Medical College Hospital (CMCH) police outpost Jahirul Islam said locals took the injured three workers to CMCH where doctors declared Nayan dead.
Jewel and Mintu's condition is critical.
Police said Nayan and two others were working in the under-construction building of Keari Limited in Khulshi residential area.
They suddenly came in contact with a live electric wire and fell to the ground from the rooftop around 10:00pm.
Contacted, Assistant Manager of Keari Limited Saifur Rahman told The Daily Star that the accident happened due to carelessness of the workers.
"Nevertheless, we have taken necessary steps for proper treatment of the injured," he said, adding that they are taking further precautionary measures.
