Hearing on charge framing begins
Rejecting Jamaat-e-Islami leader Delwar Hossain Sayedee's bail petition for the sixth time, the International Crimes Tribunal yesterday began hearing on charge framing in a case filed in connection with his crimes against humanity during the Liberation War.
The three-judge panel headed by Justice Nizamul Huq however adjourned the hearing till today asking the prosecutors to submit adequate papers and documents before the tribunal in favour of charge framing.
The court on August 18 deferred the charge framing hearing till yesterday following a time petition submitted by the defence lawyers.
During yesterday's hearing Syed Haider Ali told the tribunal that Sayedee and some people under his leadership in collaboration with Pakistani occupation forces committed crimes including murder, rape, looting, arson especially in an area where minority communities lived in Pirojpur district.
Tanvir Ahmed Al Amin also moved for Sayedee while Ghulam Arieff Tipoo also argued for the prosecutor.
