Brother-in-law kills youth

A rickshaw-puller, who was beaten up by his brother-in-law over money issue Sunday night, died in a city hospital yesterday morning.
The deceased is Akber Sheikh, 20, son of Arif Sheikh of the city's Adabar.
Family sources of the victim said Eklas Miah, husband of Akber's elder sister Ruba, with his accomplices beat up Akber with wood stick around 11:00pm Sunday.
Eklas had feud with Akber, as Ruba who died recently had named her sister Runa as the nominee for her Tk 1 lakh insurance. But Eklas did not want Runa to get the money.
Upon the attack by Eklas, Akber was taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where he died yesterday morning. The body was sent to the college morgue for autopsy.
Zakir Hossain, officer-in-charge of Adabar Police Station, said they arrested Eklas and two of his accomplices in this connection.
