Academy end tour with loss
CSA Academy emerged victors in the second 4-day match by 49 runs as a valiant 84 from GP-BCB NCA batsman Mominul Haque went in vain on the final day of the final 4-day match at Laudium, Pretoria yesterday.
NCA needed, 186 for eight overnight, needed a further 61 runs on the final day with only two wickets in hand, but they could add only 11 before being all out for 197. The home side set a 247-run winning target for the visitors after they were all out for 180 runs in their second innings, in which NCA bowler Shaker claimed 4 wickets.
The win made CSA Academy winners of the two-match series by a 1-0 margin. They had earlier won the 3-match one-day series 2-1.
