Arbitrary Shalish continues unabated

We came to know about a barbaric act from a television channel that a woman was called by a shalish committee and tortured mercilessly by the brutal village law makers. Her husband died just a few days before this took place.
She was in mourning but they wouldn't listen to her plea. They were beating her until at one point she became senseless and then they dragged her to the ground and started hitting her again. Strangely enough, village shalish practice is still taking place in our country. Severe punishment should be meted out to the culprits to stop this barbarism.
