"Simply Kona" launched at Café 33
Popular singer Kona's third solo album "Simply Kona" was launched on August 18 at Café 33, New Baily Road, in the capital. Popular singer-composers Habib Waheed, Bappa Mazumder, Fuad Al Muktadir, Arfin Rumi, actress Rumana and others joined hands with Kona to unveil the album at the programme.
Under the level of "Deadline Music", the album features 10 tracks. Of these Bappa Mazumder composed six songs, Fuad Al Muktadir composed two tracks and other two songs were composed by Sri Lankan singer-composer Iraj Weeraratne. Shahan Kabondho wrote lyrics for all the songs except one Nazrul Sangeet "PriyoJai Jai Bolo Na"
Kona has been an active participant in the Bangladeshi musical scene for a long time. Her first album "Jyamitik Bhalobasha" (2006) was well received by her fans as well as the larger audience. Her second album "Fuad Featuring Kona" (2008) was also a hit in the CD market.
All the Bangladeshi mobile phone companies are enabling their subscribers to set all the tracks of the album as ring tones. Apart from this, subscribers from 17countries including Canada, UK, Singapore, Qatar, Bahrain and Saudi Arabia can set the album's tracks as ring tones in their handsets.
"My latest album features semi -classical, rock and dance inspiring songs that I hope will win the hearts of my audience," said Kona.
Extending their good wishes for the success of the album, Bappa Mazumder, Habib Waheed, Fuad Al Muktadir, Arfin Rumi andShahid [of the band Durbin] spoke on the occasion.
