Blatter not coming
FIFA president Sepp Blatter thanked BFF president Kazi Salahuddin for the invitation to attend the Argentina-Nigeria friendly in Dhaka but politely declined due to prior commitments.
The country's football governing body invited the FIFA boss for the friendly and while he felt deep honoured to be invited to such an occasion, he regretted not being able to be a part of it. He did wish Bangladesh every success for organising the Argentina-Nigeria match.
“However due to prior commitments of the aforementioned date (a trip to Romania and Slovakia), I regret to inform that I will be unable to accept your kind invitation.
“Nevertheless, I wish you every success for the organization of this match and assure you that I look forward to visiting your association at the next opportunity” stated the statement from Blatter.
FOOTBALL BODIES SNAP UP TICKETS
While the sale of gallery tickets is going slow, the Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) is struggling to meet the demands from its affiliated organisations with reduced-price tickets.
The game's governing body has made special arrangements for different clubs, national-award winning footballers, District Football Associations and members of Swadhin Bangladesh Football Team as the price of VIP gallery worth Tk 15,000 has been reduced to Tk 5,000.
“A total 1386 tickets of VIP gallery with reduced price has already been sold out and some 10000 tickets are on demand from different clubs affiliated by the BFF. And we are now thinking of arranging their demands,” said organising committee chairman Anwarul Haq Helal, who however, could not inform how many tickets from the banks have been sold out.
Helal informed that the most tickets like President box Tk 50,000 have also been sold out and other tickets at different galleries like VIP, special enclosure, hospitality enclosure have also been selling out fast.
Some 23499 tickets have been kept up for grabs for the Argentina-Nigeria friendly.
