Anniversary of Zia's birth today

Today is the 72nd birth anniversary of late president Ziaur Rahman, the founder of Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP).
On this day in 1936, Ziaur Rahman was born at Bagbari in Bogra.
Both factions of the party have drawn up programmes, including discussion meetings, to mark the day.
Leaders and workers of Khandaker Delwar led faction will place wreaths and offer special prayers at the grave of Ziaur Rahman at 10:00am. They will hold a discussion meeting at Engineers' Institution auditorium at 3:00pm.
Leaders and workers of pro-Saifur faction will also place wreaths at the grave and offer special prayers. They will hold a discussion at a city hotel.
In a message on the occasion, Khaleda Zia appointed BNP Secretary General Khandaker Delwar Hossain paid glowing tribute to the founder of the party.
