UNO sued by woman UP chairman

A woman Union Parishad chairman has sued Agoiljhara Upazila Nirbahi Officer for allegedly trying to abuse her sexually.
Hosneara Begum, chairman of Ratnapur UP lodged a case with women and children repression prevention court here on Thursday against UNO Abdul Latif.
Hosneara Begum is the widow of late Jahangir Hossain Makhon Serniabat who was elected chairman of the UP three tiems earlier.
In the case she alleged that the UNO tried at abuse her his office on January 14. She also named five witnesses in her case.
Accepting the case, Judge Abul Hossain ordered chief judicial magistrate Mainuddin Islam to investigate and submit a report within seven days.
When contacted over phone, the UNO said the allegation is false and baseless. The UP chairman was involved in irregularities in implementing some development projects. After the irregularities were detected, he asked her to explain. The case was filed out of vengeance, the UNO said.
