The sinister syndicate
Only one thing that is falling in price in Bangladesh is the share price because some people on the corridor of power control the bourse to their advantage at the cost of the teeming investors. A quite opposite scenario is prevailing in the commodity market where the prices are soaring thanks to a syndicate of top 10 businessmen.
Who says that the government has no control over them? Perhaps the only one place where the government has no control is the pious minds that are able to ward off the sinister wizard's spell. This time around, people cannot rely on the commerce minister's assurance of easing the market because his earlier hard words to the businessmen failed to bring result.
That proper market monitoring works wonder is a proven fact. But who will monitor whom? The syndicate and the government seem to be entwined like umbilical cord. Honest and social welfare oriented businessmen are thus now beginning to be the endangered species waiting for a 'Sindbad' to rescue them overpowering the sinister syndicate.
