Chanchal ban stayed

A High Court bench yesterday has stayed Bangladesh Football Federation's decision of banning Daily Jugantar's sports journalist Mozammel Haque Chanchal from all football activities organised by the BFF.
The bench, comprised of Justice Shamsuddin Chowdhury and Justice Gobinda Chandra Thakur, issued a rule asking the federation to explain why their decision will not be declared as illegal. The court gave the BFF two weeks to respond.
On July 28, football's governing body, BFF, banned Daily Jugantar's senior sports reporter Chanchal from all football activities after some reports against the organisation were published in that national daily.
Chanchal filed a writ in High Court challenging BFF's decision. Barrister ABM Siddique Rahman advocated for Chanchal in the hearing while Masud Reza Sohah was BFF's advocate.
