Punish cops Demands ASK

Rights group Ain O Salish Kendra yesterday demanded punishment of the police personnel responsible for handing over a teenage boy to a mob that killed him in Noakhali last month.
Locals at Tekerhat in the district caught Shamsuddin Milon, 16, during an attempted robbery on July 27 and handed him over to police.
But a video footage aired on Somoy TV on Sunday night showed how the mob beat him after police forced him off their van. Five more suspected robbers were also killed by the locals that day.
Police cannot avoid responsibilities in the killing of the boy, as he was killed in their presence, a press release of the rights body said.
