Interfab Shirt Manufacturing Ltd, a concern of leading garment maker Viyellatex Group, has signed an agreement with German brand Olymp to supply two million pieces of shirts in one year, said a top official of the group yesterday.
Ahasan Kabir Khan, managing director of Interfab, and Mark Bezner, owner and CEO of Olymp, signed the agreement at the Viyellatex Group office last month.
According to the agreement, Interfab will supply two million pieces of shirts to the Olymp through the next one year, said KM Rezaul Hasanat, chairman and managing director of Viyellatex Group.
“This is an exclusive agreement with Olymp. Olymp will double the order if we can supply the garments by the deadline,” he said.
Without mentioning the prices of the shirts, Hasanat said the shirts will be manufactured with both imported and local fabrics.
“I have the capacity to deliver the goods within the set time and I hope for the next order from the brand,” he added.
Hasanat said his company exports up to 80 percent of its products to Germany. He supplies garment items to Hugo Boss, Puma, s.Oliver and Esprite.
Khan said the total number of workers in the group is 16,000 and the factory units number eight, including knitting, woven, printing and accessories.
Interfab exported shirts worth $36 million in fiscal 2010-11, up from $28 million in fiscal 2009-10. The group's total turnover was $190 million in fiscal 2010-11, up from $160 million a year earlier.
