Road accidents kill 4

Four people were killed and 35 others injured in separate road accidents in Rajshahi, Lalmonirhat, Chittagong and Comilla on Tuesday and yesterday.
Our staff correspondent from Rajshahi reports: Two people including an aged woman were killed and five others injured in two separate accidents at Bagha and Mohonpur upazilas yesterday.
The deceased are identified as Sukmon Begum, 70, of Bhatopara in Mohonpur and Shaharul Islam, 50, of Raotha village of Charghat upazila.
Police said Shaharul succumbed to his injuries on the way to hospital after a truck collided head-on with a human hauler on Lalpur-Bagha road in Paikpara area.
Sukmon died on the spot near Mougachhi Bazar in Mohonpur when a sand carrying truck hit a human hauler.
The injured were admitted to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital and local health complexes.
Our Lalmonirhat correspondent says: At lest one person was killed and 30 others were injured as a bus fell into a roadside bamboo cluster on Lalmonirhat- Burimari highway in Bhullarhat area of Kaliganj upazila on Tuesday evening.
The deceased is identified as Yasin Ali, 48, of Kawnia village of Rangpur.
The injured were admitted to Kaliganj Upazila Health Complex, Lalmonirhat Sadar Hospital and Rangpur Medical College Hospital.
CU correspondent adds: A student of Chittagong University (CU) was killed as a speedy city bus hit him from behind while he was crossing Muradpur-Bohaddrhat road in Bahaddarhat area of the port city on Tuesday night.
After the accident agitating students and locals vandalised some busses including the city bus and blockaded the road for one and a half hours demanding compensation for the victim's family.
UNB from Comilla adds: Road communication on Comilla-Sylhet highway remained suspended for 13 and half hours from 1:00am yesterday as a portion of a bailey bridge collapsed at Mirpur in Brahmanpara upazila while a stone laden Comilla-bound truck from Sylhet was crossing.
On information, officials of the Roads and Highways department rushed to the spot and salvaged the truck and restored communication after repairing the bridge.
