Auto-rickshaw driver murdered

Unidentified criminals killed a CNG-run auto-rickshaw driver at Gongarjal village in Baralekha upazila of the district early yesterday. The victim was identified as Mujibur Rahman, 30, son of Rakib Ali of the village. According to police, a gang of criminals entered the house of Mujibur by breaking open the door at around 2:00am, slit his throat and left the scene. On information, police went to the village in the morning, recovered the body and sent it to Moulvibazar Hospital morgue for autopsy. The reason behind the murder could not be known as of filing of this report at 6:00pm yesterday.
