U2 star Larry Mullen Jr's acting debut to grace Cannes
U2 drummer Larry Mullen Jr's acting debut in a crime drama is to be seen at the Cannes Film Festival next month.
The 49-year-old musician appears opposite Donald Sutherland in "Man on the Train", an Irish-Canadian co-production based on a 2002 French film.
Directed by Mary McGuckian, it sees him play a mysterious stranger who arrives in a small town to rob the local bank.
French rock star Johnny Hallyday took the role in the original movie.
Though previously seen on the big screen in concert documentaries "Rattle and Hum" and "U2 3D", "Man on the Train" marks Mullen Jr's film acting debut.
The U2 co-founder produced the film with McGuckian and Martin Katz and has also composed its score alongside musician Simon Climie.
