Six killed in Road accidents

At least six people were killed and one was injured in separate road accidents in Dhaka, Chittagong, Jhenidah and Natore yesterday.
Staff Correspondent reports: Three people were killed in three separate road accidents in the city yesterday.
An employee of a construction company, Abdur Rashid Chowdhury, crashed under wheels of a private car at the city's Chairmanbari of Banani. The vehicle hit him when he was trying to cross road.
The victim was rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where duty doctors declared him dead.
Meanwhile, a rickshaw van puller, Jahangir Hossain, 32, was killed on Kuril Bishwa road as an unknown vehicle hit his rickshaw from behind.
Police said the vehicle fled away leaving him dead on spot.
In another accident, police recovered an unidentified body of a youth, 30, in front of Balaka Bhaban on Airport road around 3:30am yesterday, who was killed by an unknown vehicle.
Our correspondent from Chittagong reports: A young man was killed in a road accident at Muradpur intersection of Panchalaish in the port city yesterday.
The deceased was identified as Suman, 23, son of Shahidullah.
Police said the accident took place when a recklessly driven bus ran over Suman while he was passing the road around 7:00am.
Suman succumbed to his injuries on the way to Chittagong Medical College Hospital.
Our correspondent from Jhenidah adds: A schoolgirl was killed and a motorcyclist injured in a road crash on Jhenidah-Magura highway at Goalpara village yesterday.
The deceased was identified as Saleha Khatun, 7, daughter of Abdul Kader of Ghoramara village of Sadar upazila.
Police and witnesses said the accident occurred when a speeding motorcycle hit Saleha from behind while she was crossing the road leaving her dead on the spot.
Our correspondent from Natore says: A six-year-old girl was killed on the spot as a pickup crashed her while she was crossing Natore-Thaherpur road at Banbelgharia of Sadar upazila yesterday.
The deceased was identified as Suity Khatun, 6, daughter of Abdul Khalek of village Banbelgharia.
