15 cops among 50 hurt in clash

At least 50 people, including an officer-in-charge (OC) and 14 police personnel, were injured in a fierce clash over a trifling matter between two rival groups of villagers at Charmanikdah village in Sadar upazila yesterday.
Police arrested Golam Elahi and Jewel Mollah from the spot, during the clash.
The clash ensued around 6:00am between the two groups of people one led by Mollah Family and another by Mia Family over beating Mahbub of Mia Family by the rival group.
The feuding groups equipped with sharp weapons attacked each other during the clash, which lasted for two hours.
15 police personnel, including OC Borhan Uddin, were injured while resisting the clash.
